Alison Sweeney isn’t on Days of our Lives right now but fans can still see her on TV. She’s in an upcoming One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, set to premiere this year on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And she’s going to be paired with a very familiar face.
Sweeney will be playing opposite Victor Webster, who did a turn as Nicholas Alamain (last played by Cody Longo) on DAYS from 1999-2000. He is filling the leading man slot left by Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital). Webster and Sweeney previously appeared together in Hallmark’s Wedding Veil movies.
“I’ve always loved working with Victor – from our years in daytime to our work together on The Wedding Veil,” Sweeney told TV Insider. “When writing the script and developing this movie, I knew he’d be a great addition to the Hannah Swensen family, and am thrilled that he said yes.”
In the next Apple Turnover Murder, Hannah, Sweeney’s character, is asked to teach a baking class at a college. After someone winds up deceased, Hannah tries to figure out whodunit. Webster will play Chad Norton, the town’s prosecuting attorney.
So what happened to Mathison’s character Mike, who appeared opposite Hannah in previous films? TV Line reports that, according to Hallmark, the movie writers are staying “true to the book series” which does not have Mike and Hannah getting back together.
Mathison can be seen in some upcoming movies for Great American Family (GAF). Earlier this year, GAF announced that the GH fan favorite would be making movies for the Hallmark rival.
Since exiting Salem back in 2000, Webster has remained busy. His post-daytime credits include roles on All Rise, A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe, Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Hearts of Winter, Chesapeake Shores, Home for Christmas Day, Mom, White Collar, Castle, Melrose Place, and The Chippendales Murder.
