DAYS Alum Marci Miller Celebrates Amazing Milestone

Poor Abby Deveraux DiMera died on Days of our Lives, and even though the talented Dr. Rolf exists, a resurrection doesn’t seem to be in the cards. Thankfully Marci Miller is all smiles as she celebrates her special day!

Happy Birthday, Marci Miller

Miller was born on August 2, 1989, in the small farming town of North Liberty, Indiana, and that means she is turning 34 today! She was named after her grandmother, Marci(a) Jo Scurlock, while her younger sister, believe it or not, was named after Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) on DAYS.

The Daytime Emmy-nominated actress studied vocal performance at nearby Bethel College. After graduating, she went overseas and lived in Paris, France, for two months. Eventually, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to pursue theatrical opportunities and headed for Los Angeles soon after.

She met Ryan Matteson, and the two got married on November 29, 2008. With her personal life in order, Miller hit the ground running with her acting career.

In 2009, she was in the movie The Perfect Gift. After that, she was in several short films. In 2014, she appeared in The Aspect Ratio, The Amateur, and Most Likely to Die with gossip king, Perez Hilton and Heather Morris from Glee.

While several other projects made 2016 a good year for the actress, in June of that year, news came that she was taking over the coveted role of Abigail from Daytime Emmy-winner for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Kate Mansi (now Kristina on General Hospital).

While they were tough shoes to fill, Miller proved herself worthy, quickly garnering a nomination in the almost impossible category of Outstanding Lead Actress. While she didn’t win, she proved that the seemingly closed club wasn’t, after all, for the right person.

Miller left the role, but after Kate Mansi returned and left again, she returned to take back Abby. The character left town after taking a lot of personal hits when Miller went on maternity leave after she gave birth to a daughter in March 2021. Miller returned, and then, in the summer of 2022, an unknown assailant murdered Abigail.
