Days of our Lives fans are well aware of the singing prowess of one Bill Hayes, as he has entertained in Salem for decades as Doug Williams. Now the actor has a special treat to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day just right.
While many DAYS viewers may know that the actor has a terrific set of pipes on him, they may not know that he actually had a hit on the charts — Billboard Hot 100 — with the song, The Ballad of Davey Crockett. That was back in 1955 when his version of the often-covered song spent a week in the top spot!
Now Hayes wants to make your St. Patrick’s Day special with his rendition of “A Little Bit of Heaven” — which was first shared by Days of our Lives own official Twitter account in which they said, “Happy St Patrick’s Day! Enjoy this little tune performed by #Days own Bill Hayes for some Irish Luck! 🍀”
The actor starts out the video by saying, “Hi, I’m Bill Hayes, I play Doug Williams on Days of our Lives. I am about to sing a song for you in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.” He then shared the title and goes into the musical interlude, already thrilling fans as can be seen by the comments being left on the Youtube video.
Hayes started in Salem back in 1970. His romance with co-star Susan Seaforth captured the hearts of viewers everywhere as they fell for their characters’ love story too, even landing the couple on the cover of Time magazine in 1976.
