Days of our Lives Star Leann Hunley Celebrates Her Birthday

On Days of our Lives, Anna DiMera and her beloved Tony haven’t had much screen time as of late. In the real world, performer Leann Hunley is celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because she was born on February 25, 1955, in Forks, Washington, which means that this talented actress is turning 68 years old today! Hunley began her on-camera career with an episode of Hawaii Five-O, which was followed by another unrelated character on the same series one year later.

Subsequently, she filmed the TV movie The Islander and appeared in four episodes of Battlestar Galactica. Afterward, came roles in B.J. and the Bear and Mrs. Columbo. Between 1979 and 1980, she had a recurring role on The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo.

In 1982, after a bit part on Fantasy Island, Hunley was cast as Anna Fredericks Brady on the NBC daytime drama DAYS. She remained in the role for the next four years, earning herself a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the meantime — an honor she didn’t even get to accept. Convinced that she would lose, Hunley skipped the ceremony and instead filmed an episode of Arthur Hailey’s Hotel.

During her time at DAYS, Hunley continued to work in primetime. Among her many side projects were episodes of Hart to Hart, Airwolf, and Knight Rider. Following her exit from the soap, Hunley accepted an offer to appear on Aaron Spelling’s primetime serial Dynasty.

Beginning on June 21, 2007, 21 years since her initial exit, Hunley made her first of many return appearances to DAYS. Though she was a recurring presence until 2017, she had a far more significant storyline between August and October 2019.
