Life isn’t all roses for Days of our Lives’s Li Shin, what with his wife walking out on him — after he blackmailed her into staying married to him (!) — and hooking back up with the true love of her life, but luckily the opposite is true of Remington Hoffman.
Happy Birthday, Remington Hoffman!
And that’s because he was born on May 3, 1988, which means that this talented multi-hyphen is turning 35 years old today!
A native of Santa Cruz, California, Hoffman was recruited to play college basketball at Keuka College, a Division 3 school in upstate New York. During his tenure there, Hoffman received encouragement from his father to take an acting class and soon found himself cast in a leading role in the institution’s production of Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig.
From there, the acting bug bit — but first, a detour into the world of professional modeling. His first credit was the short film 15 Hours Before the War, followed by an episode of Don’t Trust the B– In Apartment 23.
Additionally, Hoffman has added to his resume a plethora of guest stints on series such as Criminal Minds, The Catch, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Animal Kingdom, Westworld, Call Me Kat, and Station 19, recurring appearances on The Stranded, Breakwater, and Zatima, and several films such as Vampires In Venice and The Run Saga: Breathe.

After several fruitless auditions, Hoffman joined the Days of our Livesverse in 2019 via the web series Chad & Abby in Paris before migrating to the mothership a year later. For a time, his Li Shin was merely a glorified guest trotted out for big business stories, but soon the part was beefed up. Hoffman was paired opposite Camila Banus’s Gabi Hernandez, then revealed to have a rather dark, scheming side.
In addition to his acting, Hoffman is a lauded short film and indie TV director and documentarian. He is an avid surfer, keen traveler, and motorbike enthusiast.
Hoffman has been married to Ida Barklund since March 13, 2020. The couple welcomed a daughter, Una Bay, on June 29, 2022.
