Poor Xander Cook has gotten himself into a lot of trouble over the years, but Days of our Lives fans are still rooting for him. While Xander may be having a hard time, his portrayer Paul Telfer has a lot to celebrate.
That’s because he was born on October 30, 1979, in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, which means that this charming and charismatic performer is turning 44 years old today! Truly a Jack of All Trades and a world traveler, Telfer has worked in his native Scotland, the United Kingdom, as well as the U.S. in jobs ranging from teacher to salesman to painter.
But it is, of course, acting for which Telfer is best known. His first television role was in the bawdy comedy program Is Harry on the Boat, and he followed that with a co-starring role in the USA Network mini-series Spartacus (with future DAYS co-star Dan Feuerriegel, who plays EJ), a guest spot on the comedy Mile High, and the title role in the NBC miniseries Hercules.
Subsequently, Telfer appeared in five episodes of the BBC One serialized dramedy Hotel Babylon and three episodes each of NCIS and Vampire Diaries. He also filmed guest spots on Body of Proof, CSI, and Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey.
In 2015, Telfer was hired for a six-episode guest stint on Days of our Lives, playing a character named Damon. Having suitably impressed the soap’s writers and producers, he was almost immediately brought back in another role — Xander Kiriakis.
For the next four years, Telfer recurred on the soap opera, frequently disappearing (usually when Xander was arrested and sentenced to a stint in prison) and reappearing when needed. However, he has since signed a long-term contract and remains in the thick of the drama.
Soap Hub would like to wish Paul Telfer a very happy birthday, and you can, too, by clicking on the X (formerly Twitter) link below.
