Days of our Lives star Vivian Alamain hasn’t been seen much in Salem after she was caught trying to abduct Eli Grant and Lani Price Grant’s newborn twins! But actress Louise Sorel has plenty to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Louise Sorel
And that’s because she was born on August 6, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, which means that this talented, much-beloved actress is turning 83 years old today! Sorel spent the earliest part of her professional career in the theater in plays such as Take Her, She’s Mine, Man and Boy, The Lion in Winter, and The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window.
Sorel made her film debut in 1957 and appeared in her first television role in 1962, titled Eighteen and Anxious and Naked City respectively. In July of 1984, she joined the inaugural cast of Santa Barbara. Over a period of seven years, she would star as the eccentric and meddlesome Augusta Wainwright.
In between stints on the NBC serial, she played Jewish District Attorney Judith Russell Sanders on One Life to Live. Between March 1992 and February 2000, Sorel starred on Days of Our Lives as the flamboyantly maniacal Vivian Alamain.
Subsequently. she had roles in Port Charles (ex-Donatella Stewart), All My Children (ex-Judge Kay Campobello), and Passions (ex-Dort). Sorel reprised the Vivian Alamain role off and on between 2009 and 2020.
Sorel’s other acting credits include the feature films The Party’s Over, B.S. I Love You, Plaza Suite, Every Little Crook and Nanny, and Crimes of Passion, as well as made-for-TV movies such as River of Mystery, Every Man Needs One, and Get Christie Love. She also had guest appearances on series such as Hawaii Five-O, Kojak, Vega$, Charlie’s Angels, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
