Days of Our Lives’ Dan Feuerriegel Details A Day in the Life Of A Soap Star

Lately, EJ has been sitting back and watching fireworks explode around him on Days of Our Lives. In fact, he hasn’t been scheming too much. Recently, he giddily watched Stefan and Gabi’s marriage crumble. However, he has no idea that Vivian has kidnapped his brother. He’s also working with Chad to use the fake Abigail, Cat, as bait to flush out the villainous Clyde. It’s all in a day’s work for Salem’s district attorney. And EJ’s portrayer, Dan Feuerriegel, recently shed light on a day in the life of working on DAYS.   

A Peek Behind the Curtain

Young Hollywood interviewed Feuerriegel and released the clip on Instagram with the statement: “#DaysOfOurLives star [Dan Feuerriegel] (AKA EJ DiMera) gives us a rundown of what a typical day looks like on the set of a soap opera! ⏳🫧 @dayspeacock @lesleymia #days #dool @peacock #peacock #soaps #soapopera #soapoperas.”

The actor, eloquent as always, had no trouble pulling back the curtain behind the scenes of DAYS. “So, a typical day, just say, for example, I’m shooting one episode, but it’s split up into multiple kind[s] of sets,” he began, adding, “You get in, just say like, seven o’clock in the morning, you’ll go to hair and makeup, you’ll maybe do a dry block, which is we do like a brief blocking of the scene, so it makes it at the time of shooting, go faster.”

Just One Take

Feuerriegel continued with, “Then, depending on what time you are scheduled, you will sit down and chill out for a bit, or you’ll get straight into it. You’ll shoot, we’ll shoot as fast as we can. If we can do it in one take, we will do it in one take.” As far as we know, most soaps only allow one take, perhaps two if someone really flubs a line or there’s a technical issue.

Fans loved the peek behind the curtain. However, they worried about rumors stating Feuerriegel was leaving the show. But one follower knew better, responding, “Loving your story laughing off the rumors @thedanfeuerriegel.” Others commented that he didn’t really have a British accent, so a few of his fans chimed in, explaining that he’s actually Australian, like co-star Thaao Penghlis (Tony).
