Days of our Lives is adding to its list of fan favorites returning for Doug Williams’s upcoming memorial later this year. Melissa Reeves, who first played Jennifer Rose Horton in 1985, is coming back to Salem for the heart-warming event.
According to TV Insider, Reeves is returning to DAYS for some episodes in November that time with not only Thanksgiving but Doug’s memorial. “I heard about Bill, which was just devastating for all of us,” Reeves said. “I was like, ‘I wonder if they’re going to do tribute shows.’
“Matt [Ashford, Jack Deveraux] and I always keep in touch and Matt said, ‘Would you ever think about going back?’” Reeves continued. “And I said, ‘Matt, I think about DAYS all the time.’ Days of our Lives was where I grew up and spent my life, really, from 18 until now. So, it always has a place in my heart, and it always will for me and for my family. So, I said, ‘Matt, you know if they called, I would say yes, but I haven’t heard anything.'”
Reeves happily accepted DAYS’ invitation to come back to the show. She arrived in town a day early in order to re-acclimate herself as to what it’s like to be on a soap opera. “I just needed a day to be here and wrap my brain around going to work again and being on set again,” she says.
Reeves speculated on a more permanent return to the show but noted that that might not be feasible as she and most of her family now live in Tennessee. “I don’t have a place to stay anymore,” she points out. “I always had family in Los Angeles but all the Reeveses have moved to Tennessee!”
