Days of our Lives star Cherie Jimenez addressed her honest feelings about Gabi’s future. She also defended her alter ego’s actions and need for revenge. Gabi was desperate to find her brother and to get back at EJ for swapping Rafe with Arnold.
Defending Gabi’s Actions
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Jimenez admitted she fully supports Gabi’s revenge plot. Gabi showed up at the DiMera mansion with a gun in her hand. She waved the weapon in EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) face. Jimenez shared what was going on in Gabi’s mind.
“Once Gabi realizes that everything is a lie, that an imposter [took Rafe’s place] and that EJ had something to do with it, it brings out that ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ against him,” Jimenez said. “It brings out some fire, some anger. This situation just sends her over the edge and really has her spiral into revenge mode. Her showing up at his house with a gun is going to create chaos, as well.”
Jimenez teased that this situation will “spiral into a set of circumstances.” Ultimately, Gabi will find herself in a tough spot. Does that mean that Gabi is headed back to jail? DOOL fans have wondered about her future on the show.

Where Jimenez’s Future Lies
Jimenez admitted that she is even concerned about Gabi’s future. The last thing she wants is for her character to go back to jail. “Anytime I see something where I’m in a situation where somebody’s being kidnapped, someone’s dying, something’s happening, and I’m involved, I’m always like, ‘Oh God. Please don’t send me back to jail!'” she exclaimed.
The only thing on Gabi’s mind is revenge. She feels that EJ should pay for his crimes. But it’s not just about getting revenge. This is “personal” to Gabi because of her brother. “So, I don’t put anything past Gabi. I also stay out of Gabi’s way,” Jimenez noted. If she were to shoot EJ, she would’ve easily gone back to prison.
Jimenez already addressed her future with the soap on X, formerly Twitter. She cleared up the rumors by posting, “I guess there’s a rumor going around that I’m leaving Dool & so I just wanted to squash that right now by letting y’all know I’m not going anywhere. I love playing Gabi & everyone at #Days.”
