On the Wednesday, May 1 episode of Days of Our Lives , things got intense with a new pregnancy, a surprising situation, a new war, and a heartbreaking letter. It was a day full of drama in Salem.
Salem Happenings
Chanel (Raven Bowens) learned that she was pregnant , but there may be devastating consequences. Meanwhile, Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) find themselves in a surprising situation, while E.J. (Daniel Feuerriegel) prepares to go to war with Paulina (Jackée Harry). Also, Leo (Greg Rikaart) got a heartbreaking letter from a loved one.
Eric didn’t buy Sloan’s story that she gave Leo money out of the goodness of her heart, so she stormed out. She went straight to Leo’s, and with Dimitri’s impending prison release, she convinced him to think about the two leaving Salem. E.J. was happy for Nicole’s first day as a reporter for the Spectator, and that she passed his tip about Paulina’s actions on to Chad. At the hospital, Paulina was concerned that Chanel’s symptoms of fatigue and nausea were caused by her exposure to radiation. Kayla said she would run bloodwork. Paulina confided in Kayla that she felt responsible and guilty if something was wrong with Chanel because of her actions. E.J.’s secretary, Rita, convinced him that killing Paulina with kindness would be the best approach. Leo pondered leaving town as well as various ways to make more money so that he and Dimitri could live comfortably. Chad offered Eric a freelance photographer’s position. Nicole showed up for her first day and was shocked that he was also working at the Spectator. Eric felt it was the universe working in its mysterious ways. E.J. called Paulina with the intent of mending fences, but because she was about to hear Kayla’s news regarding Chanel, she abruptly hung up on him, causing E.J. to declare war on the mayor. A happy and forward-looking Leo was devastated when he got a letter from Dimitri, who stated that he met someone in prison and they were going to go off together. Poor Leo was left in tears. Kayla told Chanel that she was fine with one exception: She was pregnant. However, she had been pregnant for a few weeks and her exposure to Paulina’s radiation put her pregnancy at high risk as it may have affected the child’s organs.
