It’s been a while since we’ve seen Cary Christopher’s Thomas on Days of Our Lives. His dad, Chad, has been doing a good job of shielding Thomas and his sister Charlotte from the machinations of Clyde. In real life, Christopher has some irons in the fire including his exciting new project, Spider-Noir. But often times with happiness comes sadness and Christopher opened up to his fans about a major loss in his life.
His Loss Cut Deeply
On Instagram, Christopher shared several pics of him and his dog Oreo, with the sad caption, “Oreo crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 a few hours ago while snuggled in his dog bed with us around him. I will miss him for the rest of my life. 😪. Until we meet again, Oreo. Thanks for spending your last day with us at the beach🐾🌴. Adopted 11/18/2010 from The Burbank Animal Shelter. Gained his doggie wings 🪽 🐾1/28/2025.”
Many of the pics were of the tyke sitting on the beach with his cute pooch. Co-star Greg Rikaart (Leo) soulfully shared, “It’s just the pits. Hang in there, Cary. ❤️.” One of Christopher’s followers lovingly responded, “I’m so so sorry 😢 losing a pet is extremely hard, it feels unfair to not be able to live our entire lives with them when they are family. The unconditional love is on another level. Thinking of you guys 💔.”

The Love Poured in
Former DAYS villain Julie Dove, who played crazy Connie, wrote the heartfelt, “Sending you big love Cary. I’m so sorry for this loss.” Alice Halsey, who will soon be stepping into the role of Rachel, thoughtfully responded, “Oh no, I’m so sorry!! You gave him such a long life full of love. We know firsthand how hard this is. We’re sending love and big hugs to all of you. 💔.”
Cynthia Quiles, who has been appearing in the hilarious new Tim Allen series Shifting Gears replied simply, “So sorry for your loss! ❤️❤️.” With all of the condolences and love pouring in, one fan encapsulated the feeling by writing, “I’m so sorry kiddo! That’s so hard losing a best friend. 💔🐶 Sending you prayers of comfort – and many happy memories of your good boy! All dogs go to heaven! ❤️.”
