The annual Day of DAYS fan event does not disappoint in terms of news being announced. This year was no exception as the show proclaimed that fan favorites Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso would be coming back to the show as Bo Brady and Hope Williams Brady.
It’s a dream come true for the legion of fans of this dynamic pairing when the two actors announced via video that they are already back shooting and will air in 2023. The two came onto the Salem scene in 1983 and quickly emerged as one of the show’s most popular duos. They are, arguably, in fact, soap opera’s most popular couple.
Peter Reckell, who had just come off a run as Eric Hollister on As the World Turns in New York, was cast as Bo Brady, the rebel, younger brother of hero Roman Brady (then, Wayne Northrop).
Kristian Alfonso, who’d appeared in the NBC movie The Star Maker, which starred Rock Hudson (ex-Daniel Reese, Dynasty), was cast as Hope Williams, daughter of Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and the late Addie Hayes (Patricia Barry) and stepdaughter of Julie Olson Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Day of DAYS is a long-running fan event that invites fans of the long-running serial to meet the show’s cast. The event is free and had traditionally been held in Universal City. This year, the festivities, which include autograph signings and a Q&A session with the cast, took place at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.
Reckell and Alfonso were last seen on the Peacock limited series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem 2. Hope learned that longtime rival — and Bo’s former love — Megan Hathaway (Miranda Wilson) was alive and well, despite being presumed dead back in 1985 after she was slammed into a wall by Larry Welch (Andrew Masset).
Megan orchestrated getting ahold of Bo’s body and it turns out that he’s not dead either. When the five-episode series came to a conclusion, Hope was determined to track down Megan — unaware that she has Bo! This is a cliffhanger that DAYS wants want to see resolved sooner than later. Now that Bo and Hope are on their way back to DAYS, it’s, hopefully, only a matter of time before the long-awaited reunion takes place.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on Peacock+ in the U.S. and The W Network or Global TV in Canada. For more about what’s coming up in Salem, check out all the latest that’s been posted on DAYS spoilers, and for an in-depth look at the show’s history, click here.
