Ready For Recasts? Can Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) Fans Accept A New Bo And EJ?

Did you know that some of your current Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) favorites are recasts?

Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Hope (Kristian Alfonso). Roman (Josh Taylor). Kate (Lauren Koslow). Brady (Eric Marstolf). Eric (Greg Vaughn). Abigail (Marci Miller). Eve (Kassie DePaiva). Then there are folks like Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Will (Chandler Massey), who played their parts, left, then returned.

So what we’re saying is that Salem watchers are used to new faces on familiar characters…. but does that mean they’d accept recaps in such critical roles as Bo or EJ? Here’s how over 9.000 viewers voted.

Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing, Baby
No way, no how, 62% of you are putting your feet down in a tsunami of stomping. When you think Bo, you think Peter Reckell. Robert Kelker-Kelley who? (He played the part from 1992-1995, but Hope was presumed dead then, and Lisa Rinna’s Billie was his extremely popular scene partner).

And when you think Elvis Junior, you think James Scott. No other tall, handsome Englishman will do.

So if your stubbornness means that if Bo and EJ must remain dead forever, so be it. Sami (Allison Sweeney) will suffer and remain in Europe.

Susan (Eileen Davidson) will suffer and remain in the loony bin. Hope will keep dating non-Bo like heroes Rafe (Galen Gering), and no-Bo like villains like Adrian (Daniel Cosgrove). But you’ll be happy!

Bring It on
No one wants to see an unhappy Hope. And everyone is afraid of an unhappy Sami. So, for 38% of the audience, if a new actor is the price you have to pay to get both those characters back on the canvas, you are open to the possibility.

The fact is Kelker-Kelley had a huge following as Bo. And no one knew who James Scott was before he debuted at EJ. (He didn’t make nearly as big of a splash on All My Children). Who says lightening can’t strike twice?
