Soap Hub was at the summer TV critics press tour in Beverly Hills and got the scoop from NBC’s top execs on the future of Days of Our Lives!
As fans know, the show is now under the guidance of Emmy-winning scribe Ron Carlivati, who’s widely credited for saving General Hospital from cancellation.
Granted his material has only been airing for a few weeks, but fans are already seeing a change for the better in the pace and stories.
Happy DAYS Are Again!
“I think we’re feeling really great about the new team in place,” Jennifer Salke, NBC President, Entertainment, told Soap Hub.
“We’re evaluating as it goes. Right now we’ve been so focused on [the new fall primetime lineup, but] we love DAYS and we hope it stays on the schedule forever.”
Robert Greenblatt, NBC Chairman, Entertainment, cautions that it’s too early to tell how Carlivati’s tales will affect the ratings.
“These shows take a long time to sort of see the effect of the storytelling, so we just have to sort of see how that plays out over the next nine months [when it’ll be time to renew the show].
“I think everyone’s feeling pretty good,” Salke added.
