Days of Our Lives (DOOL) welcomed back some popular stars and characters in 2017.
Some were gone for a short spell, while one actor had been off the canvas for years. No matter, each return instantly propelled storyline and spiced up the soap’s drama quotient. Which Salem return ranked tops with the show’s fans? Nearly 13,000 of you picked your choice.
Sami
Over half of the voters, 51%, rated Alison Sweeney’s comeback as Sami as your favorite. The character was immediately thrust into action, driving the search for Will when rumors surfaced that he was alive.
It made you realize how much you missed her fire and Sami-being-Sami antics, not to mention her strong ties to Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and the Brady clan.
Will
Sami’s son Will, as portrayed by Chandler Massey, nabbed 32% of your vote. In your book, the actor is the one-and-only Will, so having him resurrect the character added a powerful punch to the surprise plot twist.
His initial scenes with Alison Sweeney, Freddie Smith (Sonny), and Deidre Hall (Marlena) were particularly poignant and memorable.
Eric
Some 15% of viewers were happy to see Greg Vaughan’s Eric resurface after a short absence. His on again/off again relationship with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) continues to intrigue you. And his surprise romantic reunion with Nicole (Arianne Zucker) totally took you off guard, but in a good way.
Eve
Watching Kassie DePaiva sashay back into town and the Kiriakis mansion as Eve was tops with 1% of fans. You adore her brand of bad girl – smart, sassy and always stirring up trouble. The show was sadly lacking in that department, but it’s not anymore. You’re hoping the character is here to stay, this time.
Others
The remaining 1% of you enjoyed some other returns more. Among them: Eileen Davidson — times three! That is, her portrayals of Susan, Kristen, and Sister Mary Moira. Watching the actress bring the trio of characters to life again made you remember how much you missed her and why she’s a Daytime Emmy winner.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
