Louise Sorel Reportedly Returning To Days of our Lives

Gabi better not get too comfortable at the DiMera mansion because it looks like her mother-in-law, Vivian Alamain, will be returning to Days of our Lives in the form of the actress who originated the role — Louise Sorel.

Is Louise Sorel Returning?

According to the Jason47 DAYS Website, it was Sorel’s former Santa Barbara onscreen husband, Nicholas Coster (ex-Lionel), who broke the news in an interview he did on the Misha & Dianne Youtube Channel. In it, the actor was trying to explain why Sorel wasn’t on the cruise that several stars from the defunct soap went on back in November.

“Louise and I are still dear friends. And we still amuse each other. Sometimes irritate each other.” An interviewer then said, “She shows up on Days of our Lives from time to time. Maybe they can find something for you.”

This is when Coster interrupts to say, “She’s back on it now.” This leads the interviewer to realize, which Coster confirms, that this was the reason she couldn’t appear on the cruise, which had set sail back on November 4-8.

As Jason47 muses, this times out correctly with a Twitter statement from Robin Strasser, who had stepped in for Sorel during the character’s most recent storyline that led to the death of Vivian’s son, Stefan (Brandon Barash).

Putting The Pieces Together

Strasser wrote on October 16, “TY!-how do I speak to a sneaky snake or snakey sneak? Very carefully-so it’s clear to all who may overhear us: #Days told me eve of #YomKippur that they won’t be using me again as #VivianAllamain To be clear: I’m AVAILABLE for other projects & maybe 100K peeps might come watch;-)”

That would make sense if DAYS had already signed a new deal that brings Sorel back to the canvas. Now if she began shooting at the end of October, early November, fans shouldn’t expect to see those scenes on the air until mid-summer of 2020. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
