Leo Is Here To Stay, And We Like It That Way On Days of Our Lives

While Leo may be Sonny and Will’s worst nightmare on Days of Our Lives, for viewers he’s a dream come true!

It’s been a long time since the show’s had a villain who is just as funny as he is dangerous.

Poor Victor (John Aniston) has been defanged by Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and it’s been a couple of years since the passing of Joe Mascolo, whose Stefano always delivered.

It looked like Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) could be the one, but he was killed off in his prime, and Louise Sorel certainly delighted as Vivian, but she too was removed from the Salem scene.

Now we have Leo, played to hysterical delight by The Young and the Restless vet and Emmy winner Greg Rikaart, who is keeping every actor on their toes in their scenes with him.

And we bet that they’re having almost as much fun as we are (they have to remain in character–though we have no idea how they keep a straight face).

Fellow Emmy winner, Judi Evans certainly gave her character Adrienne’s slap across Leo’s face her all and it was pure joy! Leo sees how much he’s hurting Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will (Chandler Massey)… and the best thing is, he loves every minute of it.

But in some ways, Leo isn’t wrong. Sonny and Will thought he had died, and they didn’t lift a finger to help him. He’s not making that part up. Sure, he’s twisting things to fit his own agenda (like any good villain worth anything would do).

What makes Leo better than most is razor-sharp wit and the fact that he doesn’t take himself seriously. That was Deimos’s fatal flaw: He was so darn serious! Leo basks in the absurdity of the world and has no problem pointing out hypocrisy when he sees it.

Did DAYS just hit pay dirt yesterday teaming him up with Sheila (Tionne “T Boz” Watkins)?

Their scenes were awesome and we hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Every bad guy needs a sidekick… and with her placed in the mayor’s office, she could certainly come in handy!
