Today, October 14, 2020, was the final day that viewers got to see Hope Brady in action on Days of our Lives. Her portrayer all these years — on and off since 1983 — Kristian Alfonso, took the opportunity to remember an iconic character with a walk down Memory Lane.
Kristian Alfonso Remembers Hope
Alfonso took to Instagram to share some of her favorite memories of playing the Salem sweetheart. It’s a long and storied path that Hope walked — and the actress pays tribute to her in a beautiful way.
“Through the Years 😘,” she began her post. “Being today is my last airshow. I wanted to share some of my favorite memories onset & behind the #scenes. I hope u enjoy it 😘. And …. #🙏 🙌 thank YOU from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me into your homes all of these #years. And for making me a part of your lives. xoxo ❤️ Thank you Ken & @nbcuniversal @nbc for a beautiful ride. #❤️ #😘”
The “Ken” she is referring to is of course executive producer Ken Corday, whose parents, Ted and Betty Corday, co-created Days of our Lives, along with Irna Phillips and Allan Chase, with its premiere being on November 8, 1965.
Hope has been through a lot over the decades. She had one of the greatest love stories in all of soapdom, and sadly lost the love of her life as Bo died in her arms five years ago. Alfonso pays tribute to the soap with a seven-minute video below, as she takes a tour behind-the-scenes at the show she’s called home for most of her life — to the song “The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing and “On My Way” by Phil Collins.
Co-stars shared their thoughts in the comments section, including Robert Scott Wilson (Ben) who wrote, “Beautiful journey. Beautiful souls. Boston strong.🖤🙏🏼”
Former co-stars also chimed in including Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa), “Awwwwww. So sad!!!! I will always cherish working with you!! You’re an icon and a beautiful soul Kristian ❤️❤️” and Kate Mansi (ex-Abby) who wrote, “And oh what a time it was !!! ❤️Love you.” In addition, many fans have shared their own thoughts about losing this iconic character. You can see it all below.
Be sure to tune in today to see how the show writes off Hope. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
