Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is about to host a Days of Our Lives reunion. Alison Sweeney and Kristian Alfonso, better known to daytime fans as Sami and Hope Brady, seem poised to solve a suspicious tumble from a cliff, but will they gather the evidence before time runs out?

Kristian Alfonso Previews New Alison Sweeney Flick

The Chronicle Mysteries sixth installment, Helped to Death, finds its protagonists, podcast host Alex McPherson, played by Sweeney, and her boss/sleuthing partner, Drew Godfrey, played by Benjamin Ayres, investigating “a self-help retreat and the controversial life coach who oversees it.”

As previously reported by Alfonso herself, she’ll be playing Sherriff Williams…shades of Police Commissioner Hope (Williams) Brady, no?

In addition to the aforementioned Sweeney, Ayres, and Alfonso, the upcoming flick stars Rebecca Staab (ex-Elizabeth Barrington, Port Charles), Jayce Barreiro (Arrow), Ian Collins (Snowpiercer), Richard Keats (Arrow), and Alison Wandzura (Netflix’s The Healing Powers of Dude).

Sweeney was the first to tease her collaboration with a fellow DAYS alum when she tweeted a picture of her and Alfonso on the set of the mystery film with a message, “So excited that @kristianalfonso is able to join us for @chroniclemysteries movie!!! Welcome to the @hallmarkmovie family!!!”

Alfonso returned the sentiment with another on the set snap and a post that stated, “working beside my #dear #friend @alisonsweeney on @chroniclemysteries.” The actress subsequently kept her fanbase abreast of the behind-the-scenes goings-on, including a comical tweet showcasing her character giving a fellow player what she dubbed, “the sideways glance.”

On Thursday evening, Alfonso took to her Instagram and shared a promo for Helped to Death with a message claiming it was a “quick #peek of what’s coming.”

And like all the previous entries in the highly popular franchise, Helped to Death promises to be a thrill ride from start to finish…so here’s hoping that Alex and Drew watch their steps, least they become the next unfortunates to be “helped over the edge.”

Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death is slated to premiere Sunday, February 21, 2021. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
