Life is going great for Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fan fave, Alison Sweeney. Not only is she making another Salem visit with a hot storyline, but the busy actress has a new deal for a string of made-for-TV flicks!
According to Deadline.com, Sweeney has been tapped to lead the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries series, The Chronicle Mysteries, which is written by longtime soap scribe (including DAYS) Melissa Salmons.
In it, Sweeney will play Roberta “Robbie” McPherson, a novelist and podcaster, who loves to solve mysteries (of course!).
Salmons has penned several other Sweeney projects and this will reunite the prolific pair, with Sweeney serving as executive producer, along with Salmons and Craig Baumgarten.
This will be the second franchise for Sweeney, who already starred and produced the Murder She Baked movies for the channel, which included Love on the Air, The Irresistible Blueberry Farm, and Christmas at Holly Lodge.
In the meantime, DAYS fans anxiously await her return to Salem. Might Sami not arrive in town alone this time? Or at least — with the potential to not be alone? After all, the last time we saw her in Salem, she had just spent a night making love to Rafe (Galen Gering).
That secret has since come out, thanks to Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), and ruined his marriage to Hope (Kristian Alfonso). By the time Sweeney arrives (thanks to the advance taping schedule of the show), perhaps Rafe will have just made inroads with winning Hope back. Could Sami arrive with a young child in tow? Stay tuned.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
