Things can’t go quite right for our Hope on Days of Our Lives.

Over the last year, she married a man who seemed to try to strangle her on her wedding night; woke up to find him seemingly dead with Bo standing over her; had Bo soon die in her arms the very next day; shot Stefano thinking he was responsible for Bo’s death; learned her daughter was raped; fell in love with Rafe; witnessed the return of dead husband, Aiden; and was then blackmailed by Aiden after he learned she killed Stefano.

Last week, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) finally got her groove back and convinced Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) to leave town, freeing her to be with Rafe (Galen Gering). Sadly, that recording he had of her confessing to killing Stefano didn’t leave with him. OF COURSE, Andre managed to steal the recording.

And, according to the November 7 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Andre (Thaao Penghlis) plays the recording over the speakers in Horton Square. Rafe can’t even believe what he’s hearing and wants everyone to think they’re hearing the wrong thing, but no dice for poor Rafe–and poor Hope. She’s finally arrested for the crime nearly a year after committing it.

We knew it couldn’t be smooth sailing from now on for Hope and Rafe. This is a soap after all and a happy couple is a boring couple. But, Rafe and Hope didn’t even get a week.

Hope can’t take it anymore and finally blurts it all out just as Chad walks into the police station. After everything Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) put him through, and after every warning from Andre, Chad just melts down and gives it to Hope with everything he’s got.

This should be good because few have grieved for Stefano like son, Chad (Billy Flynn). Next week certainly looks like a keeper on Days of Our Lives.
