Jack and Jennifer Reunited in a Very Special Days of Our Lives Hour

Jennifer’s torment reaches a fever pitch on “Days of Our Lives” tomorrow and it seems nobody can help her–except one person.

Poor Jennifer Rose (Melissa Reeves) knows she’s reached the end of her rope, but that doesn’t stop her from shutting the windows, turning off the lights, and searching for more pills wherever she can find them. She feels she needs them to survive, and although she calls on both Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) for help, they can barely reach her.

When Jenn reaches her lowest moments, it seems only her children consume her mind. While JJ seems to have his life in place, Abby’s life is in ruins as she languishes away in a mental institution away from Jennifer’s first grandchild. The woman we watched grow through the years is now a woman in need and it turns out only Jack (Matthew Ashford) can help her.

Of course, Jack is dead and stays that way tomorrow. Instead, he comes to Jennifer in a dream to help her realize she doesn’t need pills as a crutch to live her life.

The impetus for her final downward spiral is hitting Julie during this family intervention, according to the May 29 issue of Soap Opera Digest.

“It’s devastating to Jennifer,” actress Melissa Reeves told Digest. “She realizes that she crossed a line hitting Julie and feels terrible about it.”

However, seeing Jack in her dreams seems to change everything.

“Jack is Jennifer’s rock, her strength,” Reeves said in Digest. “When Jennifer sees Jack, it’s like she’s seeing herself again. There is a great comfort in seeing him. She knows that Jack would want her to push through her addiction and survive.”

Reeves also admitted to Digest that she was a little frightened when she learned that DAYS would air an episode devoted solely to her character.

“I saw that I was in a couple of days and I thought it was weird that I was doing one show over three days,” she said.

The actress was then told the entire show was Jennifer and she said her first thoughts were “Oh, no, no.” But, she pulled through it to give us the treat we’ve been waiting for since 2012–Jack and Jennifer on the same screen once again.

DAYS airs weekdays on NBC. Share your thoughts, leave a comment in the section below. Additionally, for more Days of Our Lives’ spoilers updates, recaps, and news, go to Soap Hub’s Facebook fanpage and join the conversation about all your favorite soaps!
