Saving Chloe: How to Get Nadia Bjorlin Back on the Front Burner

There was a time when life on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) revolved around Nadia Bjorlin’s Chloe.

During her early years in Salem, Bjorlin’s popularity soared when Chloe was transformed from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan, paving the way for the Philip/Chloe/Brady triangle.

The character also battled leukemia, had a steamy affair with Daniel (Shawn Christian), and was at the center of a murder plot when Kate (Lauren Koslow) tried to kill her.

These days, Chloe is languishing on the sidelines, having one-way phone conversations with Parker and listening to Lucas’s (Bryan Dattilo) problems. It’s time the show’s writing team moved Bjorlin to the front burner. Here are five suggestions how.

Crisis for Parker
DAYS could really tug at viewers’ heartstrings by having young Parker diagnosed with leukemia. It would provide Bjorlin with a chance to portray a mother’s angst and despair as she watches her son endure an illness that she’s previously battled and fights with everything she’s got to make sure he survives.

Enter Joy
Remember Craig and Nancy’s other daughter? That’s right, Joy. In soap years the kid would be a teen by now. It would be interesting to have Joy come to Salem to live with Chloe and, perhaps, have her be a carbon copy of her big sis. Chloe could guide Joy through her awkwardness and help unveil the true beauty within her.

Beauty Connection
After an ill-fated fling with Deimos, gorgeous Chloe has been left manless. Meanwhile, across town, equally gorgeous Eric (Greg Vaughan) will soon find himself womanless when Nicole (Arianne Zucker) splits Salem. Why not have the twosome connect and strike up a romance? If nothing else, it would make for some beautiful TV.

Broe, Take II?
The timing seems right for a Broe reunion, once Nicole skips town. While Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Chloe haven’t been a couple for years, they have maintained a friendship and he recently helped her buy Club TBD with Julie. Plus, they’re both raising sons alone.

It has the makings of a perfect blended family. If Chloe and Parker moved into the Kiriakis mansion, it would put Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) in closer proximity to her grandson and amp up the longstanding friction between Chloe and Victor (John Aniston).

Career Move
Who needs a man! There was a time when Chloe had a prospering career as an opera singer. It seems DAYS is taking this route now that she’s bought Club TPD with Julie. Viewers will hopefully hear her voice on a regular basis. But is this enough to put her on the front burner? Maybe a mobster could try to muscle in on the club…
