Arianne Zucker is reuniting with some former soap pals.
No, she’s not headed back to Days of Our Lives as Nicole, but she is being upped to a series regular as Clara on Ladies Of The Lake, the web series based on the novel by Ken Corday, DAYS’ executive producer. Ladies Of The Lake’s second season is set for a summer 2018 release on Amazon.
How To Get Away With Murder
Returning for season two are Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily, General Hospital), Jessica Morris (ex-Jen, One Life to Live) and Marie Wilson (ex-Summer, DAYS). While the first season dealt with murders of the men connected to the female characters, don’t expect the body count to rise in season two.
“This will be the fallout from the first season and the women being accountable,” Michael Caruso, executive producer/head writer, tells Soap Hub. “They’re living with the guilt, and they realize they can’t get away with the horrible things they’ve done.”
New Faces
Season one was all about introducing the women and establishing their relationships with one another. “Now, we want to pick up the pace,” Caruso says. “Go darker, edgier, scenes will move faster.”
Caruso’s not ready to announce casting, but he promises some faces very familiar to soap fans will be playing Margaret Cranston and two new male characters as well. “Watch for those announcements,” the showrunner teases.
Comments Count
Caruso isn’t fully dictated by what the fans want, but he says he does take into account what his audience responds to. “When I was writing season two I really tried to listen to all the comments from the fans and keep all the elements people enjoy about the show.”
Corday’s Influence
“Ken [Corday, executive producer] has been a rock and is so generous and supportive towards both myself and Kyle Lowder [executive producer, who also stars as Det. Daniels],” Caruso raves. “Ken let me take the story and put my own spin on it. He’s allowed me the creative freedom that every writer dreams of having!”
