Days of Our Lives Recap (DOOL): Dr. Laura Outsmarts Marlena!

The Days of Our Lives recap (DOOL) for April 5 features Marlena thinking she’s talking to Abby but in fact Dr. Laura gave the performance of her life!

Seeking Help
Abigail (Marci Miller) turned into Dr. Laura in front of Marlena (Deidre Hall), who quickly realized she was the gatekeeper and asked why Abby needed her protection.

Dr. Laura assured her that no one did anything to Abby as a child, which prompted Marlena to ask if Abby had done something to someone else.

Marlena said if Dr. Laura leaves, she’d be forced to tell Abby’s family. She then tried to draw Abby out and thought she had – but we learned that Dr. Laura was pretending to be Abby, unbeknownst to Marlena.

JJ (Casey Moss) stopped by the mansion but Chad (Billy Flynn) hoped he was Abby returning.

‘Abby’ texted him that she was with her mom. JJ admitted he needed cheering up and wanted to see Abby. Chad offered to listen, so JJ updated him. Chad then told JJ that something’s going on with Abby and he thinks Stefan is behind it.

Battle of Wills
Steve (Stephen Nichols) ran into Stefan (Tyler Christopher), literally, for the first time, and recognized his voice.

He said he’s Abigail’s uncle and soon realized Stefan cares deeply for Abby and warned him not to hurt her. Kayla arrived and was just as fierce.

When they left, JJ arrived and asked Stefan what he did with his sister. JJ told him to stay away from her. And if he’s as smart as he thinks he is, Stefan had better watch his back.

Baby News
Earlier, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) arrived to share the test results with Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey).

Valerie (Vanessa Williams) and Abe (James Reynolds) were there as well. Kayla revealed that she has placenta previa, which could correct itself but it might not and she could lose the baby.

Kayla advised she take it easy. Alone with Lani, Valerie apologized for hurting her, and promised to keep her nose out of her business.

Lani told her that’s not what she wants and said she’s going to count on her to tell her the truth. Outside her room, Eli promised Abe he would be there for both Lani and their child.

Moving Forward
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) talked to Eric (Greg Vaughan) and then felt bad she treated their date like a therapy session.

So. Eric took her home to watch a romantic comedy. Jennifer realized he got the movie to put her in the mood—and it worked.
