Right now, Ben is convinced that Hope set him up on Days of Our Lives to keep him away from Ciara… but what if someone else wanted Ciara away from him just as much?
It’s not like Hope (Kristian Alfonso) wasn’t a good guess on Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) part. After all, the police commissioner refuses to believe that he could be better now and wants him as far away from her daughter as possible.
But she isn’t the only one. Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) boyfriend Tripp (Lucas Adams) has certainly had his nose out of joint ever since she moved the former serial killer into their home.
He has to be blind not to notice their connection. And if he is blind, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) rarely misses an opportunity to tell him.
While Tripp seems squeaky clean next to Ben’s killer crimes, he didn’t come on the Salem scene as a good guy.
Remember, he gaslighted Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), almost got her fired, and held her at gunpoint when he thought she was responsible for killing his mother.
That said, he’s Steve’s (Stephen Nichols) son with Ava (Tamara Braun). Ava was a psycho and Steve wasn’t always squeaky clean himself.
If Tripp felt powerless to stop the speeding train that is CIN, it shouldn’t be too out of character for him to plant that evidence for Hope to miraculously find.
So, would that bother us if he did do it? That’s a tough one. With Steve gone and one son in prison already, we need the only child left of his to carry his hero cape.
Then again, that isn’t always an interesting choice. If Tripp starts showing a dark side, it might make him more fun to watch… and more appropriate to be paired with Claire.
But even if he’s better off with Claire, that doesn’t mean she’ll succeed in wooing him away from Ciara. What’s interesting about watching young kids be in the right coupling?
They need something to rebel against. And Ben trying to win Ciara away from the man who really set him up could be just the ticket. Of course, this is just speculation at this point, but we think we’re onto something.
