Good Guy John Black’s Dirtiest Days of Our Lives Deeds

DAYS Spoilers John Black
 Comments

It’s hard to believe good guy John is poisoning his good buddy and business partner, Steve on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).

Yet, that appears to be the case, now that viewers saw John (Drake Hogestyn) slip a liquid-filled vial into his pal’s shot glass. The mysterious “cocktail” left poor Steve (Stephen Nichols) dizzy and with blurred vision, and fans wondering what the heck John is up to.

While John’s thought of as a hero in present-day Salem, he does have a past filled with some dastardly deeds. Here’s a look back at some of them.

Mercenary Man
During the years before John arrived in Salem, he was Stefano’s mercenary. The DiMera patriarch had John’s memories erased and then brainwashed him into becoming a trained soldier, who did his bidding. While under Stefano’s control, John became an art thief and then spent years as a jewel thief with his ex-lover, Danielle.

Attempted Murder
While searching for clues to his stolen past that led him to believe he might be the son of Colleen Brady and Santo DiMera, John ended up in Ireland with Marlena (Deidre Hall).

To put a permanent stop to the investigation, Stefano ordered John to kill Colleen. John was poised to carry out the plan until fate intervened and the gravely ill woman succumbed to natural causes.

The Bribery Business
Believing he was a member of the mighty DiMeras, John moved into the mansion, took over the family business, and ignited a feud with the rival Kiriakis clan.

Determined to make his company number one, John focused on making their shipping line profitable, but he needed help. So he bribed customs official Paul Hollingsworth to delay the Kiriakis’ incoming ships.

Framing Philip
As the animosity between the DiMeras and the Kiriakises intensified, Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) bribed Paul to plant cocaine on John’s ships. John was arrested, but days later the warehouse holding the drug evidence was set on fire. John tried to get Paul to name Philip as the man behind it all, but he refused.

Then Paul’s body ended up in the river, and the police began investigating his murder. In reality, John’s men had rescued Paul, and John convinced him to help frame Philip for his “murder.”
