Gabi Gone Bad: Why This Latest Days of Our Lives Move Is Blockbuster

She was wrongly sent to prison, attacked behind bars, and now will never be able to bear another child, so having Days of Our Lives’ Gabi go bad after everything she’s endured is a blockbuster movie.

Gabi (Camila Banus) had her whole world upended by the machinations of Stefan (Tyler Christopher) and Abigail’s (Marci Miller) alter “Gabi.” Is it any wonder she’s mad, bitter and wants revenge? At this point, it’s pretty much all she has left.

Totally Justified
A vindictive, unforgiving Gabi is totally justified. She lost ownership and control of her company, Gabi Chic, after being bamboozled by Andre (Thaao Penghlis). Then, she lost her freedom when she was set up to take the fall for his murder and sent to prison.

Gabi was torn from her daughter Arianna, who now to refuses to have anything to do with her.

And, to top it off, after being stabbed during a prison attack, she may never be able to have another baby. She’s pretty much lost everything, including any hope of a happy future.

Payback’s A Byatch
Meanwhile, Stefan and Abigail are forging forward with their lives. Watching them carry on, business as usual, has only infuriated Gabi.

Gabi already demanded Stefan reinstate her at DiMera Enterprises with a hefty pay raise. Now the plan is to bring him down from the inside of his corporate empire.

That left Abigail to be dealt with. Gabi saw her chance when she was let alone with her “friend’s” pregnancy paternity test results and changed them to read that Stefan was Abigail’s baby daddy and not her hubby Chad (Billy Flynn).

The move turned Abigail’s dream life with Chad into a nightmare, giving Gabi’s BFF a sampling of what she’s been going through for months.

In Need of a Bad Girl
DAYS has been seriously lacking in the bad girl department since the old days of Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney). She used to be the town troublemaker, the person who stirred the pot, schemed and plotted.

Having Gabi carry on in that direction is the perfect move, particularly given her last few hellish months behind bars.

It’s a natural progression for the character done wrong, time and time again. And Camila Banus has handled the assignment brilliantly. Best of all, bad Gabi is guaranteed to drive months, if not years, of a great storyline.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
