He’s been gone from Days of Our Lives (DOOL) for several months but veteran soap star A Martinez is still very missed as Eduardo – and he’s celebrating a birthday!
The talented actor was born in on September 27, 1948 in Glendale, California. While he was popular on DAYS, Martinez rose to soap fame as Cruz Castillo – one half of the supercouple known as Cruz and Eden – on the now-defunct NBC soap, Santa Barbara.
The role of Cruz also helped him to win a Daytime Emmy. But, way before that, he was in a rock-and-roll band in high school and also ran track.
His real name is Adolph Larrue Martinez III but when he was young, he was called Little A to distinguish him from his father and grandfather — and then it got shortened to just A and he took it as his stage name.
Martinez has worked in primetime and film, with such notables as Roseanne, Meryl Streep, and John Wayne just to name a few. He has been working on the series Longmire since leaving DAYS, a series he also starred on before his DAYS stint.
