Go, Bo!
He may be dead, but 38% of the voters still picked Bo (Peter Reckell) as the father of choice. Maybe you remember the awesome single dad he was to little Shawn. Or how Ciara (Victoria Konefal) still cherishes his memory – and his bike. There’s also Chelsea, whom he forgave… a lot of bad things. This is the dad every kid deserves to have!

Starting Point
A slightly smaller 34% went with the classic: Tom (Macdonald Carey). We can’t count all the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren he and Alice (Frances Reid) have in Salem – and all over the world. He offered unconditional love – and advice when his descendants missed the mark. He even got through his daughter falling in love with her (amnesiac, surgery altered) brother. Once you get past that, you can get past anything.
Jailbird
Doug (Bill Hayes) is such a great dad, he married his stepdaughter! (Yes, Doug, at one point was married to Julie’s [Susan Seaforth Hayes] mother. She’s also Hope’s [Kristian Alfonso] mother.) He also hired a surrogate to give him a son… then let her keep the baby, no muss, no fuss. It’s not conventional great dad territory, but 16% of the audience would still like him recognized.
Dear John
Only 12% voted for John (Drake Hogestyn), despite him raising Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) on his own when both their parents were presumed dead. Then again, maybe you’re not thrilled with the job he did. Hey, Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Belle (Martha Madison) turned out better. Give him some credit!
