Later this week, Days of our Lives fans can view the DOOL App series Last Blast Reunion, featuring many favorites from the DotCom era of the show — from the early 2000s. Now, there’s more casting to announce related to the digital program.
Days of our Lives Brings Back Craig
Soap Hub can exclusively report that Emmy-winner Kevin Spirtas (Craig) will be joining TV daughter Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) and the rest of the Last Blast gang in Last Blast Reunion.
The series is set to launch on Friday, November 29. Starting next week, on Thursday, app-isodes, a term DAYS has coined as the series is available on the DOOL App, will be available over the next seven weeks for a total run of eight shows.
As DAYS fans recall, Craig was introduced as a doctor, who had gone to medical school with Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow). The two became rivals for the Chief of Staff position at Salem’s University Hospital. Craig and Nancy (Patrika Darbo) were overjoyed to discover that Craig was indeed Chloe’s dad. The couple had another daughter, Joy, before moving to Europe.
Darbo has appeared more recently since the couple’s exit, but this series marks Spirtas’s first return as Craig since 2009. The actor won three Daytime Emmys including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for his role as Brian in the web series After Forever.
Spirtas’s character is a widower, charged with moving forward in life following the death of his husband Jason, played by Emmy-nominee Mitchell Anderson (Party of Five).
Spirtas also took home gold for both producing and writing After Forever. (Former DAYS writer Michael Slade also won the Daytime Emmy for producing and writing After Forever.) The web series has been shooting a second season.
Soap Hub will bring you details on After Forever’s sophomore year as they become available. In the meantime, if you haven’t downloaded the DOOL App, you can do so by clicking here. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.
