Amy Stoch can be seen in Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third in the series of movies starring Keanu Reeves (Bill) and Alex Winter (Ted), the time-traveling musicians, who are charged with saving humanity! Stoch reprised her role as Missy in the film, but the actress has other impressive credits on her resume, too, including time spent on Days of our Lives.

Catching Up With Amy Stoch

Days of our Lives fans recall her turn in 1986 as Britta Englund, the woman who came between pals Bo (Peter Reckell) and Steve (Stephen Nichols). In fact, when a betrayed Bo came upon Steve and Britta in bed together, the two men got into an epic fight that resulted in Steve losing an eye, hence his getting the nickname “Patch.”

Soap Hub recently chatted with Amy Stoch about playing Missy again, her time on Salem, and her turn as Lisa on Dallas, the biological aunt of Christopher Ewing (Joshua Harris), who nearly took him away from his dad, Bobby (Patrick Duffy).

Did you ever think there’d be a third Bill and Ted film?
I was hoping. About 10 years ago, I heard rumors and talk that there’d be one. It’s been a long process but even a longer one for [writers] Ed [Solomon] and Chris [Matheson] and [stars] Alex [Winter, Bill] and Keanu [Reeves, Ted]. They’ve been the workhorses behind all this.

What was it like getting back into Missy’s persona?
It was very interesting to revisit the character after 31 years! I did think about it a little bit – not if I’d do it or not. I nearly went through the ceiling when I got the call from Scott [Fischer, executive producer] that we were a go. I played her as honestly as I could back then and I wanted to stick to that as closely as I could now. I never got too much into the publicity of the first two films, but I’ve been more involved with the fanbase on this one due to social media. It’s great to see their responses. We have a very loyal fan base. I think the guys look great.

What are your memories of playing Britta on Days of our Lives?
It was my first regular role on a daytime soap and a big learning experience. The schedule was grueling. If your story was hot, you’d do the show during the day and then, go home and memorize 20-25 pages for the next day. I had met Stephen [Nichols] at my final callback. On my first day, I saw him again and met Peter [Reckell] for the first time. We were doing flashback scenes of Britta being in bed with each of them. [Chuckles] It was like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you. Come on, let’s shoot this [bedroom] scene!’

What memories do you have of playing opposite Patrick Duffy on Dallas?
Patrick was and is a very nice man. I was on during year 10 of the show. You’d think people would be jaded by then, but no, they all enjoyed every moment of it. I liked the storyline. I liked playing the bad person more than I did playing the nice person.

And in the end, Lisa supported Christopher staying with Bobby.
Yes. When you know your storyline isn’t continuing, you prepare yourself, and you get out back there and you audition. As soon as they knew I was leaving the show, they were out getting me auditions for the next thing [including Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure]. I was onto the next thing, which was really cool.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is set for DVD and Blu-ray release on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. The film can be seen on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes now.
