It’s been a wild month for Brady Black on Days of Our Lives, and Eric Martsolf is dishing about all of it: Theresa’s exit (with their son Tate!), Eve’s betrayal, and Nicole’s impending return.
“This is a very dangerous time for Brady,” sums up Martsolf. “He’s lost his son and that’s foreign territory for him. I’ve always thought that Tate was the one thing that kept Brady’s feet on the ground… and kept his demons at bay.
Now all bets are off, and this could be a very tempting time for him.”
“Thrady” Gone Wrong
The latest spiral in Brady’s life began when Theresa (Jen Lilley) resurfaced, sued him for custody of Tate and won; then, promptly headed off to California with the boy to support her ailing mother Kimberly.
“At this point, a lot of ‘Thrady’ fans are disappointed that Theresa and Brady weren’t able to reconcile, that they weren’t able to come to a mutual custody agreement and that it turned pretty ugly pretty quick,” says Martsolf. “Fortunately, before Jen left, there was a reconciliatory moment before the two of them.
“It wasn’t a hasty goodbye,” he continues. “It wasn’t a, thanks for ruining my world and stealing my son away from me. There were some kind moments between the two of them, which kind of iced the bad cake in a kinder way than would have been expected. Jen and I were both happy to have those moments.”

About Eve
Nevertheless, Brady’s left alone and hellbent on finding out how drugs ended up planted in JJ’s (Casey Moss) apartment and, in the process, destroyed his happy life with Tate.
“Brady doesn’t know what happened,” says Martsolf. “The real test will be if Eve decides to be truthful with Brady and let him know her role in this game.
“It’s all about trust at this point,” he adds. “Brady’s never really felt able to trust anybody. So this little escapade that Eve planned with Victor might create some waves for the two as a couple.”
Jennifer in the Mix
Meanwhile, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is just as determined to uncover what really went down and clear JJ’s name.
“They’re going to be naturally intertwined,” notes Martsolf. “Brady wants to get to the bottom of who planted those drugs because in his mind that’s what sealed the deal.
That’s what created the havoc in the first place and that’s why he lost his son. So that becomes his prominent focus in this whole storyline with Jennifer just as anxious to find out the truth.
Between the two of them, Jennifer and Brady, [Eve and Victor] are going to have a hard time keeping this under wraps for long.”

Holding Back
As things proceed to look for Jennifer “to keep Brady in the loop,” shares Martsolf. In fact, she’ll tell him some key information she’s uncovered soon.
But if/when she uncovers the whole story, don’t be surprised if Jennifer decides to hold back from revealing all… at least for a while.
“Brady wants clarity. He wants to find out the truth, but he’s also an emotional mess,” admits Martsolf. “Jennifer knows Brady pretty well. She knows he’s fragile, right now and by telling him [what went down] he could end up losing Eve. He’s already lost his son. I mean how much can one man lose before he breaks?”
Enter Nicole
Just when it looks like the drama couldn’t get any more dramatic, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) enters the picture.
“When Nicole comes back, it all just comes to a head,” teases Martsolf. “Everything just comes out.
There’s going to be so much revelation that goes on during that time. It just blows the door wide open on everyone’s secrets and what everyone has been withholding.
“It increases the stakes even more. Relationships begin to change at the drop of a dime,” promises Martsolf. “The drama and the tension is ridiculous.”
