Marci Miller of Days of Our Lives
With so many processed and genetically modified foods saturating the market, Days of Our Lives star Marci Miller has found a healthy alternative for herself, so she and her husband figured why not offer it to others.
The pair own Kalecart.com, a CA company that specializes in local farm items delivered straight to area kitchens. According to the website, it also offers catering to events, parties, and meetings.
In fact, everything about the company stays with the green theme. Even the food is delivered on bike or by foot, rather than in polluting vehicles.
“The food system in America has become wonky and broken,” Miller said in the February 6 issue of Soaps in Depth. “We really wanted to help people get back to basics. People don’t realize how simple and easy it can be to eat well.”
Miller and her husband have partnered with local farmers and have a chef prepare each order individually. Most of their dishes are vegan, creating an option for those who prefer no animal products.
The actress says the business doesn’t only offer them a way to share healthy foods, but also an outlet to “connect to people in our community.”
