EJ DiMera has no idea he’s not the father of Nicole’s baby, but needless to say, his portrayer, Dan Feuerriegel, is faring a lot better these days and has a big reason to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, Dan Feuerriegel
That’s because he was born on October 29, 1981, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, which means the handsome actor is turning 42 years old today! Feuerriegel originally had a different career dream and was studying to become a vet. That changed and he took six months off.
A friend suggested he audition for acting school, and he decided to give it a try after having “a little moment” watching Varsity Blues, which starred As the World Turns alumni, James Van Der Beek.
In 1998, Feuerriegel graduated from Villanova College, a Catholic college located in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo, Queensland. He studied acting at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. He graduated in 2002. He appeared in Australian stage productions of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Rent, and The Three Sisters.
In 2005, he was in the short, Boys Grammar and the television movie Small Claims: White Wedding. The next year, he played Ben in the mini-series RAN: Remote Area Nurse, the recurring role of Leo in the series McLeod’s Daughters, and appearances in other series soon followed, including his 2008 role on the series Home and Away.
But his role in 2010 as Agron in Spartacus (as well as the mini-series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena) with Lucy Lawless was a huge break for him. He did that until 2013. He made appearances in other primetime shows including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Chicago Fire, NCIS: Los Angeles, and others.
Daytime fans would be thrilled in 2021 when he was cast as EJ DiMera, Sami Brady DiMera’s (Alison Sweeney) beloved…well estranged at the time…husband. He has added a much-needed element to Salem and the fans are thrilled to have him.
In addition to acting, Feuerriegel has also written the 48-page, cyberpunk crime graphic novel, Fractured Shards. Soap Hub wishes Dan Feuerriegel a very happy birthday, and you can too by clicking on the X (formerly Twitter) link below.
