Welcome Home, Sonny! But, Why Can’t We Have Will Back?

Today “Days of Our Lives” fans welcome Sonny Kiriakis back into the Salem fold–although something is missing. Sonny is somewhat more somber, a bit more mature, but ready to win our hearts again.

When we last saw Justin (Wally Kurth) and Adrienne’s (Judi Evans) son, he left town with his heart broken after saying goodbye to husband, Will. Soap Hub asked if you’re excited to see Sonny back on your screens or if he’s not the same without Will.

Wish We’d Seen Him Sooner
Out of nearly 5,000 votes, 89% of you were thrilled to see the beloved character back on your screens today. Yes, you absolutely prefer him with Will and wish DAYS could find a way to bring that legacy character back. However, you will take Sonny any way you can get him, and right now Sonny is without a love interest. (Although you never know what could happen with Paul.)

Just Not the Same
A very small 6% wish Sonny had stayed in Europe. Yes, he has familial ties to Salem, but his story revolved around Will for so long you can’t see him as an entity all his own. Actor Freddie Smith says Sonny will broaden his horizons this time around while interacting with more characters on the canvas. Maybe you’ll see a whole different side of Sonny this time around.

The More the Merrier?
The final 5% can take Sonny or leave him. You feel there’s enough characters to go around at the moment, but if one more wants to join, you don’t care. The more the merrier in Salem–especially when a character comes with a familiar name and face.
