Kristian Alfonso Talks Peter Reckell, Chemistry, and Bo and Hope

Ever-popular “Days of Our Lives” star Kristian Alfonso (Hope) days she’ll likely never experience the kind of on-screen chemistry she shared with Peter Reckell (Bo) ever again.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Chemistry
From the moment the two stepped foot onto the DAYA soundstage together more than three decades ago, Alfonso realized they had a spark that was like lightening in a bottle.

The actress talked to Glamour Magazine about her first impression of her handsome co-star.

“My first scene with Peter Reckell was at Shenanigans! I remember I had this red jacket that I got on Bleecker Street in New York from when I was living there, and I had the two little barrettes in my hair,” she shared with the magazine.

“The character of Hope was pretending to be older, not recognizing Bo at first, and him not recognizing her, until finally, he realizes who she is! And he’s like, ‘Aha, little one!'”

Alfonso realizes that she may never have that kind of chemistry with another actor ever again in her career.

First Impressions
“My first impression of Pete [was that he was] very serious, a little intense, and intimidating. Pete and I have had so much fun over the years. But, like any relationship, we’ve had our ups, we’ve had our downs. We’ve spent so much time together, but what they wrote for us was such a gift,” she explained.

Calling ‘Fancy Face…’
Alfonso also answered a question that has stumped DAYS fans for many years. Who came up with the nickname “Fancy Face?”

Apparently, it was Reckell. She revealed that she “didn’t want to question” the actor when he bestowed the iconic nickname on her character.

“My dressing room door was covered with all gummy bears, and so one of my gifts, when I left the first time, was my door covered in gummies!” she laughed.
