Viewers are hoping that Days of our Lives will continue to delve into Craig Wesley’s coming-out story when the NBC soap returns to the airwaves after the Olympics later this month. One aspect that Kevin Spirtas, who plays Craig, has especially enjoyed is working with his TV daughter Nadia Bjorlin.
Kevin Spirtas Raves About His TV Daughter
As viewers recall, Chloe Lane was the first person to whom Craig came out as a gay man to. Kevin Spirtas, who first created the role of Craig in 1997, says that he beams with fatherly pride when it comes to his TV daughter Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe).
“I couldn’t be prouder to have her as one of my main co-stars,” Kevin Spirtas tells Soap Hub of Bjorlin. “We kind of did a little math. [Nadia] is now [about] as old as I was when she came to the show [in 1999]. Nadia and I have this very interesting connection. She lost her father when she was very young.”
A Familial Connection
As a result, Spirtas says he tried to watch over the actress. “I, by no means, said [to her], ‘Hey! Let me be your father figure.'” That being said, there were times, Spirtas, says when the two bonded. “We have a connection. When she says [to me on-air], ‘Dad,’ ‘Daddy,’ or ‘Father,’ there’s something that’s triggered. [It’s] easy for me to play off [of her] because I love her so much. We really have great scenes together.”
Kevin Spirtas Loves His DAYS Family
Spirtas says he also feels connected to longtime pal Patrika Darbo, who plays his wife Nancy Wesley. When we first met Nancy, she and Craig conspired for him to climb the ladder at Salem University Hospital. Now, they’re facing a very different kind of drama. “The ability for us to connect has always been there,” Kevin Spirtas says. “She’s just great. [Patrika and Nadia] both rise to the occasion.”
