Days of our Lives Star Drake Hogestyn Welcomes Fourth Grandchild

Drake Hogestyn, who has played John Black for over three decades, is basking in that grandfather glow, again. The Days of our Lives actor’s youngest daughter, Alexandra, has given birth to a beautiful baby boy, making him a granddad for the fourth time.

Mason James Corwin is the first child of Alexandra and her husband, Chris Corwin. The proud mom shared an adorable photo of her brand new son on Instagram, taken while she was still in her hospital bed. The little one is nestled in his mother’s arms and wrapped up in a cozy blanket with his first name monogrammed in the corner.

Hogestyn, whose been married to his childhood sweetheart, Victoria Post, since 1986, is the proud father of four children: Rachael, Ben, Whitney, and Alexandra. Prior to the arrival of Mason James, Hogestyn was the grandfather of three.

The eldest daughter, Rachael, and her husband, Will, have a son and a daughter. Meanwhile, Whitney and her husband, Tommy, have a son, too. The tyke, Thomas Drake, turned 2 in December of 2020 and was actually born on a very special day.

Back on December 26, 2018, Hogestyn announced the baby boy’s birth on Instagram. “Merry Christmas to all! He’s here!!! Thomas Drake arrived happy and healthy amidst a lively family celebration in support of Whitney and Tommy! So blessed and proud! Woohoo Whit!” posted Hogestyn, referring to the infant’s Christmas Day arrival.

Earlier this year, Hogestyn was back on Instagram announcing Alexandra’s pregnancy and promoting the soon-to-be newest addition to his family. “Blessed to be a Father to 4 amazing kids and soon to be a Grandfather again!!!” he shared on his social media account.

Who’s Next?

The last of Hogestyn’s kids, son Ben, has yet to make him a granddad, although he is married. Ben wed actress Danica Stewart (ex-Jessica, Passions; ex-Maxie, General Hospital) in 2019. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
