Alison Sweeney is back on Days of our Lives as a contract player, but she can still be seen in Hallmark productions. In fact, a new trilogy movie series will feature the DAYS star and Hallmark fan favorites Lacey Chabert and Autumn Resser.
Alison Sweeney — New Project
Good Housekeeping announced first The Wedding Veil trilogy, which will star Sweeney, Chabert (ex-Bianca, All My Children), Resser, and When Calls the Heart’s Kevin McGarry.
The three films are loosely inspired by Lori Wilde’s book There Goes the Bride: Wedding Veil Wishes Book. The movies follow three close college friends, who come upon an enchanted antique that will change all of their lives.
“This project is, quite literally, a dream come true for me and one that I have been deeply invested in,” Chabert, an executive producer on the movies says. “Both Alison and Autumn are incredibly talented, smart, and wonderful women and actors. I’m thrilled to be able to finally get to work with them and tell this very special story!”
“While our channel is associated with romance, a core tenet of the Hallmark brand is celebrating love in its many facets, including family bonds and enduring friendships,” says Michelle Vicary, EVP Programming at Crown Media Family Networks. “Our programming is reflecting that more and more. What better way to celebrate female friendships than to bring together three beloved actors from our network, Lacey Chabert, Alison Sweeney, and Autumn Reeser.”
Sweeney debuted as Sami on DAYS in 2003. For decades, the character has been — and remains — a force of nature, acting impulsively, driving her friends and family to their limits along the way! Chabert played Bianca on AMC from 1992-93. Reeser also has ties to the soap world courtesy of her run as Taylor Townsend on The O.C. from 2005-07.
The films are in production now so, viewers will likely have to wait until sometime in 2022 to see them. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
