Days of our Lives spoilers don’t show much about this baby switch story at this point, but it doesn’t mean it’s the end. The soap took a leap forward into the future, which means a lot of story points were glossed over.
Days of our Lives Spoilers Spec
While everyone was busy untangling who killed Adrienne, where was Maggie, which baby died on the night of Mother’s Day, and who knew about it when, one loose end remained dangling: Why did Summer (Marie Wilson) come to see Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), where did she go afterward, and where has she been since?
Now, granted, Summer was not a popular character when she showed up, and nobody exactly misses her now that she’s gone. But, like Chekov’s gun that, once introduced must be fired before the show is over, what does Chekov’s Summer have to do with what happened afterward?
Green-Eyed Monster
Summer always had issues with Maggie giving her up for adoption. Meanwhile, there was Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), growing up in the bosom of Maggie’s love. Why should Sarah have that and not Summer?
Why should Sarah have everything, including a new baby on the way that Maggie was way more concerned about than Summer stopping by to tell her she was dying.
Extra Tot
Much was made of the fact that it wasn’t just Sarah and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) who gave birth that very momentous night. There was a third baby born to an unknown mother.
Kristen’s baby appeared healthy at birth. Sarah’s baby appeared healthy at birth. But then Sarah’s baby unexpectedly died, and Xander (Paul Telfer) and Victor (John Aniston), to protect Maggie from knowing that her drunk driving killed her grandchild, switched Baby Mickey with Baby Rachel.
But did they really? What if Summer got there first? What if she swiped her niece, and stuck the sick baby in her place? Mickey “died” and everything snowballed from there.
But what if Summer is still out there… and she’s got little Mackenzie Horton? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
