Days of our Lives Recaps: A Weird and Wacky April Fool’s

The Days of Our Lives recap for Wednesday, April 1, 2020, features a fun and foolish start to the month. Big names returned in a delightful baby drama storyline that connected several fan-favorite players.

Daniel (Shawn Christian) was back and his first stop was to see Nicole (Arianne Zucker). Her jaw hit the floor when she answered the door and Eric’s mouth hung wide open when Daniel proposed. He was here, he was alive, and he wanted to reunite his family. Nicole said yes, threw on a white dress, and got ready to take her vows right then and there.

Abe (James Reynolds) came over to perform the ceremony and all was well until it wasn’t. Eric stopped the wedding. Daniel couldn’t marry Nicole because he was already married… to Sheila!

Baby Stealing Drama

Speaking of Sheila (Tionne Watkins), she was home too and banging down Eli’s (Lamon Archey). She had three big surprises for her old friend. First, she had a baby. Second, he’s the daddy. And third, the baby girl is MIA. She dropped the kiddo off to a sitter and never saw her again. Help! We got to get our baby back!

Turns out, it was Clyde (James Read) who took the tiny tot. Oh, and he was out of prison and on the run. He turned up at his son’s hotel demanding a place to stay and begged Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) to run a very important errand for him. Ben agreed but Ciara (Victoria Konefal) fumed. It wasn’t long after Ben left than Ciara and Clyde got into a fight and the bad dad ended up dead.

Leo The Lion

As for that errand, Ben showed up at the Kiriakis mansion with a baby in tow. He was there with Leo (Greg Rikaart) of all people. Leo claimed to be a baby broker and offered up the infant to Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith). Sonny said no, Will said yes, and then yes again when Leo took him to bed.

The baby sale was almost a done deal but Sheila and Eli burst into the estate. Sheila snatched back her kid and laid into Leo like never before. They were supposed to be friends, but it was all a ploy to get at her kid.

Another Paternity Twist

The drama didn’t end there, though. Sheila, Daniel, Lani, and Eli met up with Abe at the square and the new mama dropped another bomb. She now claimed the baby was Abe’s.

Thankfully, it was all just a wacky April Fool’s episode and none of this was actually real. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
