In this historical Days of our Lives recap, originally penned by Amber Sinclair, it’s February 17, 2020, and most of Salem is about to bear witness to Lani Price’s rise and Gabi Hernandez’s fall.

Days of our Lives Historical Recap Highlights

It was a day of truth for Gabi (Camila Banus) when Lani (Sal Stowers) stopped the wedding and called her out. She put all the cards on the table and told Eli Grant exactly why she walked away from their big day last year. If she stayed and married him, Gabi would have killed his grandmother, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).

Julie stepped in and stuck up for Gabi and stood by her side. It all sounded crazy, and the wedding guests hung on every word, especially when Lani dropped the bomb about the app. Gabi tried to deny it but Lani and JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) knew the truth.

Days of Our Lives Recap: February 17, 2020

Gabi was backed into a corner and went into a rage. She grabbed her phone and tried to delete the app but it was too little, too late. Julie went into a full-on rage over the betrayal and laid into Gabi like never before. Tensions rose, tempers flared, and Gabi lost her cool.

Gabi turned up the app and flexed her power. She sent a few jolts Julie’s way. In a twist, it only served to have Julie’s anger rise even more. The higher Gabi went the harder Julie laid into her until Gabi turned the meter to the max and nearly killed her.

Nearly everyone was in shock, most of all Eli and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). They truly thought Gabi had changed and they were wrong. Very, very wrong. Gabi was the same person she always was.

DOOL Historical Recap: Looking Back, Moving Forward

Meanwhile, Valentine’s Day proved difficult for Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith). They each took walks down Memory Lane of their past holidays spent together. It was just too bad Will wouldn’t speak up so he could have it all again.

Sonny’s day ended on a high note when Evan (Brock Kelly) showed up with a flower in hand. This was their first Valentine’s together and he wanted to make it special. Oh, if he only knew what would be in store.
