Days of our Lives Recap: Things In Salem Began To Spiral

The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, January 21, 2020, features the second act of the Mother’s Day episode. A biting reunion, a fond farewell, and the start of a massive tragedy had the drama heating up.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

Sarah’s baby was on its way and she and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) got ready to go to the ER. However, when they opened the door to leave they found Summer standing there. Maggie was in shock. Summer (Marie Wilson) said they needed to talk right now! Maggie agreed.

Summer stunned Maggie by telling her she inherited her alcoholism and it’s bad. Really, really bad. She has cirrhosis of the liver and it will be a matter of months before she dies. She’s out of options, out of time, and blamed it all on Maggie. The confrontation shook up Maggie and she struggled to not reach for the bottle.

Bad Timing All Around

As for Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), Adrienne (Judi Evans) was the one who rushed her to the hospital. Unfortunately, there were some bumps in the road. The ladies got a flat (which Adrienne fixed), had no cell service at one point, and then suffered a horrific tragedy.

Speaking of the baby, Victor (John Aniston) found out the truth. Xander (Paul Telfer) made a bombshell confession about switching the paternity and pretending to play daddy. Much to his surprise, Victor was all for it. He was delighted when Sarah called but his life turned upside down when he heard the crash.

At the same time, Sonny (Freddie Smith) was telling Gabi the good news. He wants another child. Gabi was thrilled. They just hoped Will would coming around since he was struggling with the idea.

A chat between Will and Abigail (Kate Mansi) put things into perspective. Will (Chandler Massey) hopped in his car and made a mad dash to say YES to his husband. He made one big mistake though, he was texting and driving, and saw Adrienne’s car way too late.

DAYS Recap: Rage, Anger, and Acceptance

Gabi was all the rage at the DiMera mansion. Meaning, everyone was raging about her becoming the CEO. To make it worse, Anna (Leann Hunley) helped her get the job.

She did it to keep Tony (Thaao Penghlis) from getting any deeper into the business. It was a mistake. Chad (Billy Flynn) was furious and Tony almost dumped Anna on the spot. She ran out in tears.

In the end, Tony picked Anna. They decided to pack up and leave town. He’d much rather be with her then fight for the family company. Off they went leaving Chad to face off with Gabi for Stefano’s legacy. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
