The Days of Our Lives recap for May 25-29, 2020, features explosions, frightened perps, proposals galore, an officer (momentarily) down, and so much more!

Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights

Everybody in Salem was either making big mistakes or being accused of doing so. The Salem PD and Marlena (Deidre Hall) assumed that Orpheus’s (George DelHoyo) capture put an end to the threat he posed.

Luckily for her, and a news-bearing Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) – they’re getting married don’t ya know? – John (Drake Hogestyn) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) weren’t so easily convinced.

They were able to locate the bomb that Orpheus planted, and Hope had just enough time to dispose of it – though everybody was quick to tell her that it had been a mistake to pick up an explosive device and run with it.

Swing and A Miss

Steve (Stephen Nichols) was mistaken when he assumed that Justin (Wally Kurth) was coping with the arrest of Adrienne’s (Judi Evans) killer. Hence the tense standoff he was forced to referee. (Though it turns out that Orpheus was NOT mistaken when he assumed that neither Justin nor Steve would be unable to pull the gun’s trigger.)

Ben’s Reputation Precedes Him

Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) was mistaken when assumed that his past as the Necktie Killer would always be a hindrance. In fact, it’s what saved him and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) from the violence-prone goons who came back to collect something that Jake (Brandon Barash) stole from their collective boss. But what exactly did Jake take?

Goodbye and Farewell To Abby

Abby (Kate Mansi) assumed that she wouldn’t be able to say a proper goodbye to her children before departing for that treatment center in Florida but she got through it just fine…and didn’t suffer a single hallucination. Thank goodness for small mercies.

Firepower

Rafe (Galen Gering) and Hope mistakenly believed that Zoey (Alyshia Ochse) willingly assisted her dad in his kidnapping scheme. Turns out he took her little boy and she was merely playing along in order to keep him safe. Oh, and she was really, really sorry she shot Rafe. That was a whoopsie.

Baby Blues

Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) were sure that they had used proper protection each and every time they made love…well, except for that time at the lake. And that really long lunch break they took that one time. Their mistake has resulted in a second pregnancy for Lani…and she’s not feeling it this time around.

DAYS Musings

Of the four recently engaged couples – Ben and Ciara, Nicole and Eric, Lani and Eli and Justin and Kayla – who do you most want to see actually walk down the aisle and why?

Abe: “I know from personal experience how…painful it is to give up a child you’ve raised as your own.” Abe and his wife Lexie adopted what they believed was the child of DiMera scientist Wilhelm Rolf only to learn that they were actually raising Bo and Hope’s child – who had been taken by Stefano and switched with another baby.

Orpheus: “John…you killed my wife and left them without a mother. You shot me on that island and left me for dead, depriving them of a father as well.” Okay, John did do the latter. As for the former…well, our opinion on that subject was made clear last week.

Kayla: “You know how much Adrienne means to Steve. I mean, she’s his little sister, his rock.” And in point of fact, Steve took the blame for murdering his father, Duke Johnson, in order to protect Adrienne, the actual culprit.

What was the week’s worst/best insult? Victor deeming Orpheus a “poor man’s Stefano” or his referring to Steve as an “aging delinquent”? Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
