The Days of our Lives recap for Friday, September 11, 2020, features John opening his eyes, Eli betraying his wife, and Sami getting her way.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) day began with getting chewed out by Marlena (Deidre Hall). Her mother went off about unleashing Jan Spears. If Jan did anything it was on Sami’s head. Was it worth it?

A Sort-Of Win-Win

As it turns out, it was. Sami, Nicole (Adrienne Zucker), and Eric (Greg Vaughan) were called to the courthouse. The judge lifted the restraining order but gave Sami custody. She was the grandmother, after all. The judge made it clear Sami was to be on her best behavior so she doesn’t regret her decision.

A Sudden Loss

Meanwhile, news spread of Ciara’s (presumed) death. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) cried on Justin’s (Wally Kurth) shoulder (where was Steve?), Marlena wept in John’s room, and Eli broke the news to Lani. Everyone was shocked.

Eli Was All About Kristen

Lani’s (Sal Stowers) heart broke for the family, especially Hope. How much can one woman take? Eli (Lamon Archey) was sympathetic too, but not enough to stop causing more drama. He turned the talk right back around to Kristen.

Eli made it clear Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) belonged in jail. The two argued and Lani begged him to leave her friend alone. Eli had enough of the secrets and left in a huff. He had work to do.

An Unwelcome Visitor

Kristen got both alerts from Lani. She worried Eli being in the know would backfire but put that panic on the backburner. She broke the news about Ciara to Brady. He was devastated.

No sooner did Brady (Eric Martsolf) leave to go be with his family than Eli showed up at the hotel. He knocked on the door claiming to be room service. Kristen was stunned.

John Woke Up

Back at the hospital, Marlena was pleased to welcome Brady and even happier he was sticking around. John’s (Drake Hogestyn) condition was worsening. The sedation meds were causing more harm than good. Kayla had no choice but to allow John to wake up. Slowly, but surely, John came around and eventually opened his eyes.
