The Days of our Lives recap for Friday, September 17, 2021, features the cause of Doug Williams malady making himself known, EJ DiMera proving that he has yet to peruse his copy of How to Win Friends & Influence People, and Lucas Horton encouraging Kate Roberts to give her romance with Roman Brady another go.
Much to Doug’s (Bill Hayes) and Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) chagrin, the tests run by Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) seem to indicate that there isn’t anything medically wrong with Doug.
So, how to explain all his recent lapses in memory, lecherous behavior, and that time he tried to freeze Julie to death? Kayla’s helpful answer? Lets run some more tests, and get Doug a consultation with therapist extraordinaire Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall).
Cut to Doug admitting to Marlena that he happily imprisoned “that bitch” in the walk-in freezer and that it had been the highlight of his otherwise dismal week. Also, he’s not actually Doug…he’s the same Lucifer Morningstar who possessed Marlena all those Christmas seasons ago – and he’d like her to once again serve as his vessel!
Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) is back where she and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) are pretty sure she belongs – the DiMera mansion. But, and make no mistake, things between the estranged couple have not gotten any better. They still have a lot of baggage to unpack (and we’re not speaking literally), and Abby is insistent that they occupy separate bedrooms.
Neither one are happy that EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) once again their housemate and neither one of them are happy that EJ is trying to project his troubles with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) onto them.
Though he’s usually a bit slow on the uptake, even Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) can see that there’s still a special something between Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) – even if his mother refuses to entertain the idea.
And speaking of entertaining ideas, yes Johnny, Roman, and Lucas will indeed help fund your movie…but don’t expect anything from Grandma Kate, and don’t be surprised if John Black (Drake Hogestyn) talks Marlena out of investing; he’s not too fond of the idea of revisiting their long-ago affair, or Doc’s subsequent possession.
