Days of our Lives Recap: Sami’s Wrath Is Already Destroying Lives

The Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, August 18, 2020, features Sami going too far, John suffering dearly, and Philip waltzing back into the Kiriakis mansion for the first time in nearly four years.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) faced a stormy Sami over Allie’s baby. They came at her about the restraining order and not abiding by Allie’s wishes once again. Sami stood her ground. Allie wasn’t mature enough to make her own decisions anyway.

John Reached His Breaking Point

John (Drake Hogestyn) walked into the scene and tried to defuse the situation. He sent Eric and Nicole home, then went at Sami himself. John was appalled by her behavior, demanding that she rescind the order and do what her daughter wanted. Sami refused.

In fact, Sami exploded. She and John wound up in a shouting match, with Sami throwing one of her classic tantrums. This time, it ended in danger: She became a pain in John’s neck (literally), and he collapsed to the ground.

Ready To Fight

Back at the apartment (and unaware of John’s condition), Eric agreed that his sister was in the wrong. Something must be done. The couple agreed that they would prepare for a court battle.

Babies On Board

Lani (Sal Stowers) checked herself into the hospital, worried for her babies. Thankfully, everything was a-ok. Sarah explained that she was just having Braxton Hicks contractions, which is common this early with twins. Lani did not tell Eli (Lamon Archey) about the ordeal until she was back at the station.

Speaking of Sarah, she spent her day pining for Xander (Paul Telfer). She was back in love and all about her beau… to the point where she was ignoring calls if they weren’t from him.

He’s Ba-ack!

As for Xander, he spent his day fighting for Titan’s top spot. He visited his uncle and was shocked when Victor (John Aniston) did not just hand it over to him. Victor himself was waiting to see what Brady (Eric Martsolf) wanted… so Xander got on the phone and called Brady himself. Within minutes, Brady had cut ties to Titan, and Xander had his dream job.

That joy turned to stunned silence moments later as Phillip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) walked through the door. Talk about a complication!

Where Do We Go From Here?

Hope (Kristian Alfonso) was back on the job, but she mainly focused on Rafe (Galen Gering)… just as he was mainly focused on her. After discussions with Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Eli, they decided to meet up and sort it out. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
