The Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, April 1, 2021, features a special holiday episode chock full of chills, thrills, and the threat of a kill!
April Fools’ Day 2023 was shaping up to be one like no other. Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) had awoken from her coma, and boy had she missed a lot. What a difference one year can make…
A despondent Xander (Paul Telfer) spends his downtime engaging in sacrilegious sex games with Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) – who’d finally broken up with Justin (Wally Kurth) after he called her Adrienne one too many times.
John has traversed the green mile, in preparation of meeting his ultimate fate – the result of his having strangled the life out of poor dead Marlena (Deidre Hall)! And who should volunteer for executioner duties but his dear, darling stepdaughter Sami (Alison Sweeney)!
There existed scant hope that the Governor would stay the order, and a phone call from him quickly sealed John’s fate. But hark! What is that we see? Why it be Marlena Evans, so let’s set John free….he only killed Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) so all is forgiven.
Jan may have thought she had it rough, but her story paled in comparison to Claire’s (Isabel Durant). Not only did she learn that Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) was her natural father – and not Shawn (Brandon Beemer) – but she’s also at the beck and call to sudden singing sensation Chloe “The Gould Girl” Lane. Oh, and her grandfather may get the needle for offing grandma.
In her hour of need, Claire turns to her only other friend in the world – Jan. Jan suggests that her little friend pull an Eve Harrington…then has to explain who Eve Harrington is. Go and Netflix All About Eve, Claire! Sheesh.
Claire, however, decides to do one better. She doesn’t only rob Chloe of an upcoming musical opportunity…she out and out kills her! There’s only room for one superstar in Salem.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) births a goateed Stefano clone, then allows the genetically modified imp to run amuck through the streets of Salem. Somebody really needs to address her parental neglect!
As luck would have it, all the preceding events, save for one, were all an elaborate April Fools’ Day hoax. Unluckily for Bell, Shawn, and co., Jan Spears has indeed emerged from her coma! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
